CoolSculpting is an FDA-approved Non-surgical Fat Removal Procedure

For years Dr. Cox and Dr. Dieter Manstein were studying a phenomenon that they discovered called “popsicle panniculitis.” This effect is when a child would eat several popsicles and freeze the fat cells in their mouths. This would cause a suction sensation that would suck the frozen dead cells out and cause dimples to form on the cheeks. Dr. Cox and Dr. Dieter Manstein ran with this idea and did further studies to see if the same sensation would work with different fat cells around certain spots over the rest of the body. After extensive research and testing the FDA finally approved the procedure CoolSculpting or “cryolipolysis” back in 2010. Now CoolSculpting is now practiced all over the country. CoolSculpting will work on the target areas such as the abdomen, love handles, inner thighs and outer thighs. A single procedure can reduce unwanted fat cells by 25%.

What does it cost?

A single procedure can cost from anywhere around $2,000 to $4,000. Some people will even receive more than one procedure during a single visit. The procedure is relatively affordable and the results are worth it. Once the frozen dead cells are removed, they can never return, which make the CoolSculpting method very effective. A procedure can last from 35 to 60 min. If a patient receives more than one procedure, the process could last even longer.

What are the effects?

With any form of treatment, there are always possible side effects. During the procedure a patient may experience pulling, tugging or even pinching. In some other cases, there can be intense cold or cramping. After a little time, the sensation will subside as the area will become numb. Days after the procedure a patient might experience temporary redness, stinging, blanching and even swelling. With each person being different there is no telling how long each effect will last. This is why you should always ask your doctor before even receiving the coolsculpting and after if you experience any side effects.

At the CoolScultping clinic in Toronto you can watch Netflix, read a book or listen to musicwhile you patiently wait for your CoolSculpting procedure to end. Thankfully the CoolSculpting procedure is a non-surgical treatment. Which means once the procedure has finished you can return to work imminently after. Before getting your procedure one thing you must remember is that the CoolSculpting method is not used for weight loss. It is used for helping the places on your body that normal diet and exercise are unable to help. CoolSculpting is a very safe and great way to help yourself lose that small amount of fat that you just can’t get rid of naturally.
