Renowned author, publisher, blogger and poetess, Maryam Qadri has proudly announced that she will be translating the work of a renowned Sufi Woman Mystic known as Murshida Lucy Goodenough and for this inspiring project on Sufism, she is seeking community support on the platform of Kickstarter. The project will translate Soufisme d’occident: A Feminine Perspective in English language as the original work has been done in French.
“This unique book was written by Murshida Lucy Goodenough, a pioneering female teacher and one of Hazrat Inayat Khan’s foremost students,” said Maryam Qadri while introducing the project on Kickstarter. “Hazrat Inayat Khan brought Sufism from his native India to the West over a century ago and he then trained his students who become teachers in their own right, promoting women to lead his order,” she added.
In addition, Murshida Goodenough was the national representative of France for the mystic and she gave lectures on Sufism in Paris and Vienna. This volume of her work is a historic contribution to Sufism in the West, and contains a selection of Murshida Goodenough’s French lectures. Moreover, the project is an excellent blend of Sufism and feminism and it focuses on women empowerment, peace and love for humanity.
