Charlotte – October 4, 2018 – Season Bennett, owner of Charlotte Barbers Care (CBC), hosted the 6th Annual City-Wide Food Drive. The drive benefited the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. This organization provides food to those in need in the greater Charlotte area. Season joined with 12 barbershops (17 different locations total) to accept all non-perishable food donations as well as money donations. The food drive lasted from 07/24 – 08/25 in Charlotte, NC.
With the help of all participants, Charlotte Barbers Care raised 12,133 Ibs worth of food, which surpasses their goal of 10,000 Ibs. Among the 12 barbershops that participated in the food drive, Headlines Barber Shop was one. Both Season Bennett and her Husband, Derrick Bennett, own Headlines Barber Shop where they collected 3,662 Ibs worth of food for the food drive.

Derrick Bennett, Wadesboro, NC native is the owner of Headlines Barber Shop. He founded Headlines back in 2008 with his wife, Season Bennett. He is a well-established barber with professional experience dating back to 1998. Season was inspired to hold the first food drive because hunger is a cause that hit close to home. “Being raised by a single mother trying to make ends meet, we have benefitted from the resources offered by the local food bank.” Continuing in that same tradition, Season Bennett hosted this year’s 6th annual city-wide food drive with a continued goal of 10,000 pounds of food.
