“The YaYa Books: A Trilogy, A Tribute in English and Spanish” is a unique collection of gentle narratives that do not only entertain but also educate young children, containing a charming and educational collection of bilingual short stories for children. Annie Schout aims to teach the essence of love and respect, illustrating the concepts with the description of the love and respect shared a little boy and his grandmother. “YaYa” is a common nickname for a much-beloved grandmother in the Catalan language in Spain as well as other countries in the Mediterranean area. The children’s book series contains three stories written from a child’s perspective evoke the warmth and joy he experiences when spending time with his grandmother. In “The YaYa Books: A Trilogy, A Tribute in English and Spanish,” Annie narrates the story of a boy and his grandmother, talking about the love they share. In the second book in the series, YaYa’s Country House, the little boy describes his grandmother’s house and her old world way of life, and what fascinates him about it. Book 3 was set in Christmas, and was dedicated to the culture and traditions of the Spanish and Mexican Christmastime.
