“With an increase in the number of sophisticated cyber threats against individuals and organisations, the need to improve security processes to combat cyber crimes has never been more vital,” said Chief Operating Officer at Pacific Training Group Marie Bennett.
According to the Australian Government, Australia saw a 13% increase in cybercrime reports over the 2021-22 financial year, with the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) receiving over 76,000 cybercrime reports. These crimes include extortion, espionage and fraud.
“Cyber security is the most in-demand skill set today, and with so many cyber attacks or breaches being reported on a daily basis, it’s no wonder people are looking for ways to protect themselves. These certifications will teach students to defend against attacks and what precautions must be taken,” said Ms Bennett.
With individuals and businesses being more and more dependent on information technology systems, it is no surprise that an increase in cyber attacks will come as a result. As these systems get more complicated and as more information is stored online, these attacks have become more intricate, crippling websites for days or months on end and even resulting in massive security breaches that compromise personal and financial information.
Upon completion of the cyber security short courses, students will gain a Certificate of Award for the specific ECC course, an industry recognised certificate that would be recognised by employers, as well as a certificate of completion from Pacific Training Group.
Students are also invited to explore Pacific Training Group’s Diploma or Advanced Diploma in IT (Cyber Security) courses to gain a formal qualification.
