An assembly of representatives from the Muslim, Bora Muslim, Sikh, Hindu, and Christian communities recently gathered at Newark, New Jersey and met world renowned and esteemed GuruDev Sri Sri Ravishankar. The meeting took place on the backdrop of the upcoming World Culture Festival scheduled in Washington, D.C., between September 29 to October 1, 2023.
Leaders of various faiths met GuruDev Sri Sri Ravishankar as he arrived in New Jersey for the event, “Sixth Sense – Meditation & Wisdom with Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar”, and a community event, “Connect New Jersey”. The interfaith meeting fortified unity, understanding, and collaboration among diverse faith traditions, amplifying the global impact of the forthcoming festival.
Amidst this momentous occasion, Usman Khalid, an esteemed Islamic scholar and Pakistani American Muslim community leader, expressed profound appreciation for GuruDev Sri Sri Ravishankar’s tireless efforts. He wholeheartedly committed to working alongside the Foundation for the World Culture, recognizing the festival as a powerful medium to unite communities and foster peace and welfare for humanity.
Wajid Jafri, a devout Muslim from Brooklyn, New York, deeply resonated with GuruDev Sri Sri Ravishankar’s noble work and unwavering dedication to world peace. He acknowledged the significance of unity and love in bridging gaps between communities, emphasizing the invaluable role of the World Culture Festival in this endeavor.
