San Diego, Calif. – July 27, 2023 – St. Paul’s Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) Welcomes Ramiz Nasser, DMD, PACE’s first full-time dentist, to their team of skilled healthcare providers. With the addition of Dr. Nasser, St. Paul’s PACE will now be able to offer oral healthcare services in-house at all clinic sites.
Dr. Nasser specializes in general dentistry and has spent the last two years working specifically with geriatric and medically compromised patients. Prior to that, he served as a family dentist across the country and internationally, including Texas, Arizona, and Ontario/Canada. As PACE’s first general dentist, he will be implementing a mobile dental model that will serve all PACE locations.
Dr. Nasser joined PACE because he was inspired by the mission of St. Paul’s and drawn to the idea of collaborating with a care team of health professionals to better meet patient needs. He takes pride in offering patient-centered care and says that the most rewarding part of his job is seeing how much a healthy smile can impact a senior’s life.
Services that Dr. Nasser will be offering include consultation and advice for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of oral disease. He will also be educating PACE participants about the importance of maintaining good oral health, which is fundamental to their overall health and wellbeing.
Dr. Nasser earned his doctorate degree and oral medicine specialty training from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Dental Medicine and was awarded the PASS (Program for Advanced Standing Students) International Dentist Award. As Chief Resident of his residency program at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUB), he was also awarded the Robert Schattner Award for Outstanding Oral Medicine Resident.
While at HUP and as part of his oral medicine residency program, Dr. Nasser provided diagnoses and treatment for medically complex dental patients and patients with conditions affecting the oral and maxillofacial region, such as oral mucosal diseases and orofacial pain syndromes. He also served as a clinical instructor, teaching dental students at the oral diagnosis clinic.
