Lifetime channel was inspired by the success of Timothy Hines’ “10 Days in a Madhouse” based on the book by Nellie Bly, now availble on Amazon Prime!

“In 2011, when I started working on bringing Nellie Bly’s story to the screen,” reflects director Timoth Hines, “nobody except journalists and accademics really knew who Nellie Bly was. And it was a shame. If Nellie Bly had been a man instead of a woman, there would be statues to her in every city. The success of, ’10 Days in a Madhouse,’ based on the book by Nellie Bly, woke society to this most amazing human being. Our movie, producted by Susan Goforth, Dononvan Le, Saskia Lasrsen and executive produced by Strath Hamilton and Marcy Hamilton of TriCoast Worldwide, was picked up by Broadgreen and distributed by NBC Universal.

From our first ever public screening at Geena Davis’ Bentonvlile Film Festival celibrating women and diversity to our Priemiere in Cannes 2016, to the magnificent red carpet opening of the the movie in AMC’s New York City Times Square theatre Empire 25, to the US theatrical release, German television, etc., the world knows who she is now. I am excited to see what Christina Ricci comes up with when Lifetime remakes my movie later this year. She is amazing and so is Judith Light. Based on Nellie Bly’s sensational book and personal exposé in  “10 Days In A Mad-House”,  Nellie Bly divulges the behind-the-scenes while working at the World Newspaper under Joseph Pulitzer – the fears of going undercover, facing the city’s rapists and abusers, and unveiling the city’s darkest secrets and atrocities.

Ms. Magazine’s review of 10 Days in a Madhouse raved, “Written and directed by Timothy Hines, I can honestly say this movie is a must-see. Nellie Bly’s heroism and courage truly come to life on the screen, thanks to the work of talented up-and-coming actor Caroline Barry. Barry is instantly magnetic as Bly, and it’s hard not to root for and fall in love with her character as the story progresses.”
