BALYO, a technological leader in the design and development of innovative robotic solutions for material handling trucks, offered a live demonstration of BALYO Reach Truck and Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) Trucks last week.
This demonstration attracted warehouse managers, 3PL managers, and manufacturing operations managers. The attendees learned to leverage their existing distribution center, warehouse, and plant floor space while addressing labor shortages with BALYO automated robotics solutions.
According to new data by CBRE, the U.S. industrial market is on pace for a record leasing volume with activity through July reaching 587 million square feet – 52 percent more than the year-earlier period. Sharply higher transportation costs is helping to fuel this robust leasing activity.
The spike in transportation costs – across sea, land, and air – is the result of backlogs at ports, rising fuel prices and increased strong consumer demand driven by e-commerce growth and the pandemic’s continued effects.
To hedge against further rising costs, companies have expanded domestic warehouse space to reduce the frequency of long-distance shipping.
Since acquiring more space isn’t possible, the only solution is to go up. This is driving new elevated mezzanine and racking configurations. In addition to going up, distribution centers are being compressed by realigning materials using narrow aisles.
Most A to B automated guided vehicles (AGVs) are horizontal solutions.
Only BALYO offers US manufacturers, distributors, and third-party logistics companies an immediately available solution for height and narrow aisles, while simultaneously addressing the labor shortage.
