A visa is proof that the Canadian embassy or consulate in your home country determined you are eligible and meet the entry requirements. Citizens of certain countries can apply for a visa to Canada online, while citizens of all other countries must apply through traditional channels. They can instead apply for and receive an eTA for Canada, which can be obtained online. Since August 2015, travelers visiting Canada for six months must obtain an eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization). Most nationals do not need a visa to visit Canada for less than 180 days as tourists. The Canadian Tourist Visa, also known as a Canadian Visitor Visa or a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), allows you to enter Canada solely for the purpose of tourism. Your Canadian tourist visa will usually attach to your passport (or a valid travel document). This document confirms that you meet the minimum requirements to legally enter Canada. In addition, citizens of certain countries can also apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to travel to Canada. eTA is a new entry requirement for visa-exempt foreign nationals wishing to travel to Canada by air. Single-entry and multiple-entry visas are the two types of Canada visas available in Canada. Canada Visa Online is a visa waiver document that allows qualified foreign citizens of various countries (visa-free) to visit Canada without first obtaining a visa from a Canadian Embassy.

CANADA VISA APPLICATION ONLINE
A visa to Canada is a stamp in your passport that allows you to enter the country. It is a permit to enter the country and legally reside there, either temporarily or permanently. Today, Canada visa applications have been replaced by the Canada eTA visa, which has the same meaning and criteria as a visa and grants the same permission to travelers. The Canadian government implemented Electronic Travel Authorization in May 2016 to expedite the visa application process. A Canada eTA visa is required if you plan on flying to Canada without a traditional visitor or tourist visa. You must apply for an eTA to visit Canada if you are from one of the visa-free countries (countries eligible for an eTA) and are arriving by air or traveling through a Canadian airport. eTA Canada (Electronic Travel Authorization) is an online visa for travelers from visa-exempt countries wishing to enter Canada by air for tourism, business, or transit purposes. The eTA allows multiple entries for tourism, business or transit purposes with a maximum stay of 6 months each. It is valid for 5 years or until the expiry date of the associated passport, whichever comes first. Since the Canada Visa Application Form is available online, the applicant can easily apply for an eTA without going through any hurdles. Visitors who are eligible to apply for a Canada eTA visa can obtain the necessary authorization at any time of the day from the comfort of their own home without having to visit an embassy or consulate.

CANADA VISA FOR SOUTH KOREA CITIZENS
The Canadian government implemented the Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) system in 2015 for travellers from more than 50 countries, including South Korea. The eTA for South Korean citizens is intended for visitors to Canada who are visiting for tourism, business, transiting through Canada to another destination, or seeking medical treatment or consultation. Only air travellers may apply for an electronic travel authorization for Canada. South Korean passport holders are eligible to travel to Canada under the Canadian visa waiver programme. This means you will not require a visa to visit Canada. The eTA was first used by Canada’s Immigration Service in 2015 to assess the eligibility of foreign visitors to Canada and to expedite the eTA application process. The Canadian eTA is available to citizens of South Korea. As a replacement for the visa, Canada has introduced the Electronic Travel Authorization (Canadian eTA online). The eTA allows Canadian authorities to pre-screen foreign travelers and makes it easier for South Koreans to enter Canada. Travelers may stay up to 6 months during each trip and may enter Canada multiple times within a 5-year period. The Immigration Service will record the length of stay when the traveler arrives at the border and the expiry date will be written on the passport. The eTA application for South Korean citizens must be submitted at least 72 hours prior to travel to ensure the document is processed and the eTA is issued before you travel.
CANADIAN ETA REQUIREMENTS FOR SOUTH KOREAN CITIZENS
- A South Korean passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of travel
- A valid credit or debit card to pay for the eTA fee
- A current email address to receive the eTA in their Inbox.
CANADA VISA FOR LATVIA CITIZENS
Latvian citizens who wish to travel to Canada may apply for the Canadian Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). The eTA was introduced by the Canadian government in 2015 to reduce the bureaucracy associated with traditional visas. The visa policy of Canada allows many nationalities, including Latvians, to cross the border without a visa. The Canadian eTA is not optional, but is required for all Latvian citizens visiting the country for a short period of time. The Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) is an electronic system that allows certain travellers to enter Canada legally. It is available to citizens of certain countries whose citizens (including Latvians) are permitted to visit Canada for short-term tourism, business, or transit purposes. The Canadian eTA is an online multiple entry visa waiver. It is valid for 5 years and allows Latvian visitors to stay in the country for 6 months on each visit. The electronic travel authorization is linked to the traveler’s passport and is not transferable to a new document. This means that if a passport expires before the allowed 5 years of the Canadian eTA, then this travel permit expires as well. Latvians who meet the requirements can proceed to the eTA application form for Canada. This form is a simple questionnaire that takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes to complete.
