Lien Heng Memorial House in Hangzhou, capital of East China’s Zhejiang province, is hosting an exhibition showcasing 100 paintings and calligraphy works by students from Hangzhou and Taiwan from Sept 25 to Oct 9.
The exhibition is an important part of the online cross-Straits forum between Hangzhou and Nantou, which was held on Sept 24 and mainly focused on rural environment governance, early childhood education, as well as cross-border e-commerce.
Lien Heng Memorial Hall was built to commemorate Lien Heng, a renowned patriotic poet and historian in Taiwan, who once lived in Hangzhou in 1926. The former chairman of the Kuomintang party Lien Chan is his grandson.
Over the past few years, Lien Heng Memorial Hall has been dedicated to exploring innovative ways to enhance cultural exchanges between Hangzhou and Taiwan. It has become an important platform to promote people-to-people exchanges between the two places.
