It’s a unique combination of spirituality, reflection, and clarity that gives us all a chance to look at who we are in the grand scheme of things.
We spoke to Gregory McLeod to learn a little more about his inspiration and motivation to write a book at a time when the world would appear to it more than ever: “I’ve always wanted to share the foundation of my own journey through life with the world, and offer it as a source of hope and inspiration for people from all walks of life. For me, the writing process has been more than one that I wanted to work through, it’s been a personal journey that I now feel able to walk with anyone who decides they want to pick up a copy and start reading.”
The idea behind The Apathetical Man is a simple one; it opens the reader’s eyes so they can learn, reflect, and gain greater clarity than ever before.
“I wanted to write a book that gave meaning not only to my own life, but to everyone who would take the time, push pause and sit and read it. It’s about reconnecting with what matters in your own life in a truly meaningful way, and it’s a starting point for just about anything you want to see, do, or experience in your life. I wanted it to have more than just a message or a few motivational quotes — I wanted it to have the power to move people and change lives in a sustainable, meaningful way.”
McLeod’s way with words is evident whilst we’re speaking with him, and even more so when you begin to work through his latest work. It’s a skill that can be hard to find in the contemporary world of instant soundbites, tweet and memes, and one which is refreshingly honest in terms of the clarity and hope that it offers.
We finished our interview by asking McLeod what else he is working on, and how he envisions his work touching the lives of his readers.
“People have the power to do more than they ever thought possible, and I believe to the very core of my being that I’m living proof of that fact. My journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s the relationship with Jesus Christ I developed that enabled me to continue to move forward when I would have otherwise stopped by the side of the road. I hope it’s a piece that will touch the lives of others by showing them that when you really stop and invest in yourself and the world around you, brighter times lie ahead.”
