Heaven and Hell Records, through its president/owner Jeremy Golden, would like to announce the historic release of the second album by ‘White Boy and the Average Rat Band’, which people have been waiting for close to four decades now.
Jeremy Golden’s heavy metal record label has seen numerous highly acclaimed and accomplished bands, but this instance is certainly a great and momentous occasion in itself. It widely speaks about a band who has had a very interesting history that dates back all the way up to the year 1980. ‘White Boy and the Average Rat Band’s’ first self-titled release became a cult favorite over the years, despite people considering them to be dead among the many hard rock and metal bands, which first emerged during that very time. Over the years, their legend has never stopped growing, and their only record with completely original material has become a legitimate collectors’ items across the board, costing even $800 in some cases. Now, after the reissue happening already early in the year, all pieces seem to be set for the legendary band’s great return.
Although that doesn’t mean that ‘White Boy and the Average Rat Band’ had not engaged in activities that were music related at all. In fact, after signing with Heaven and Hell, the band embarked upon ‘Back in the Rat Race Tour’, which has gone through the circuit of such essential cities like New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, Seattle, Portland, Las Vegas, as well as the iconic Whiskey a – Go-Go in Hollywood. The band shall continue this effective schedule in promoting their new album too, and is certainly a culmination of all the reviews, debates, discussions, interviews, etc. – all of which has followed the band over the decades.
J. Golden, the head and owner of Heaven and Hell Records, had this to say, “The most interesting aspect of Matney and his Average Rat Band’s brand of rock n’ roll is the appeal it has with many different audiences from punk rock and heavy metal, southern rock and blues, few bands are able to state such a claim. This is a testament to the music they create.” Surely, it’s pretty evident that the label is fully believing this hype, which goes to show the legitimacy and probability of success for this very project.
The official release date in the United States is supposed to be on July 15th, while their tour shall kick off on August 10th in Montana. and the entire roster of Heaven and Hell Records are wishing nothing but the utmost support for the band, and are looking forward that they get their due recognition and popularity with all the fans who have been waiting so long for the second coming of ‘White Boy and the Average Band’.
