Schneider Electric will invest $23.8 million at its facilities in Seneca and Columbia, the company announced June 25.
The investment is expected to create 130 jobs in Seneca and 150 positions in Columbia. Schneider Electric will use the funds to upgrade, modernize and maintain both manufacturing plants as well as electrify Seneca’s heating, ventilation and air conditioning system.
“As our economy becomes more digitized and electrified, Schneider Electric is spearheading this transformation through investments in a robust domestic supply chain,” said Aamir Paul, president of North America operations with Schneider Electric. “By improving our factory efficiency and growing our talented South Carolina workforce, we’re further contributing to the revitalization of American manufacturing.”
Schneider Electric employs more than 19,000 workers in the U.S., including around 1,200 people in South Carolina.
