The Schneider Electric Critical Power and Cooling Hub in Leeds offers comprehensive training, covering innovations in three-phase uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), data centre physical infrastructure, cooling, and energy management solutions. The programme also includes insights into the latest safety standards and energy efficiency regulations impacting the industry. Accredited by Continuing Professional Development (CPD), training will be available across three similar facilities, including centres in Telford and Coventry, with a further three scheduled to launch by 2025.
“We recognise the urgent need to address the skills gap across the data centre, power, and engineering sectors in the UK and Ireland, particularly within the North of England, which has become a significant area for digital infrastructure growth,” said Mark Yeeles, VP Secure Power Division, Schneider Electric UK and Ireland.
Yeeles added that through the new Critical Power and Cooling Hub, the company is decentralising the necessary skills to build future grids and artificial intelligence (AI) data centres, creating a progressive training facility that supports innovation and career growth in the Northwest.
The launch of the hub marks an expansion of Schneider Electric’s recently introduced UK and Ireland (UK&I) Training Programme and follows the unveiling of a £42 million ($54.3 million) manufacturing facility in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. The new hub provides direct access to Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure for Data Centre Solutions portfolio, featuring an array of training and demonstration resources.
