The main goal for the Service Bureau is to pre-empt and predict service interventions against the conventional react on an incident mode . The vendor-neutral architecture of this bureau delivers a new standard for proactive data and insights on critical assets which impact the health and availability of an IT environment. To mitigate the risk, it provides real time recommendations, which in turn optimizes the infrastructure performance.
Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure IT architecture is an important component of the Service Bureau. It is an open stack of connected products, cloud-based services, and edge control level software for local access and ensuring the protections needed for cyber security. This common platform aggregates IoT data from IT and OT into a cloud-based data repository.
Schneider Electric EcoStruxure IT aids customers in unlocking the potential of data points and sensors within the data centre to vastly improve availability and performance. By linking to over 800 customers, more than 1,000 data centres, 88,000 devices and in excess of 2 million sensors, EcoStruxure IT provides predictive insights that generate advance notice before any failures occur.
Predictive insights, actionable recommendations
Along with continuous monitoring, the Service Bureau also provides remote troubleshooting, manages incidents, and sends alerts to notify alarm situations. It also provides an organisation with analytics and report that offer insights and actionable recommendations. Dispatch of engineers are also initiated by Services Bureau for incidents which requires physical presence .
Events in the Service Bureau are categorized as critical, warning and informational. Actions are taken based on the criticality of an event. For instance, A “UPS on battery” operation is tagged as a “minor” incident and “Inverter Failure” is tagged as a critical incident.
Informational incidents are notified through SMS /App notifications. All Critical incidents are notified through voice calls by and expert and also through the SMS /App notifications. Timely notification helps customers to take an action in time and save the system from a catastrophic failure.
Machine data forms the basis of long-term operational insights and analytics, aimed at optimizing performance through cost reduction recommendations across the physical and IT layer, resulting in reduced equipment maintenance costs.
This provides a 360 degree service to the customer starting from monitoring an asset level, building and energy distribution level, and recommendation level to providing excellent service to the customer.
