Sunwest Bank Charitable Foundation Awards Human Options with Community Grant
Sunwest Bank aims to strengthen the communities by helping vulnerable children and families meet their basic needs.

SANDY, UTAH – April 7, 2022 – Sunwest Bank, a leading entrepreneurial business bank, is pleased to announce it has awarded Human Options in Irvine, CA with a year-end grant to help pursue their mission of igniting social change to end relationship violence. Now in its 40th year, Human Options provides a full continuum of services to prevent relationship violence such as a 24-hour crisis hotline, emergency shelter, transitional living programs and more.

“At Sunwest, we are dedicated to investing in our community by helping local youth and their families meet their basic needs. Sadly, domestic violence has increased significantly through the pandemic. We are proud to partner with Human Options to continue their mission of igniting social change to prevent relationship violence,” said Carson Lappetito, Sunwest Bank President.

“Human Options is proud to receive this inaugural grant from Sunwest Bank to support our residential program,” said Human Options’ Chief Development Officer, Kelley McGregor. “It was a pleasure touring Sunwest leadership through our emergency shelter to witness firsthand the impact of our services on the individuals and families who are escaping relationship violence. We are grateful for corporate partners like Sunwest who share our vision of a future free from violence and are willing to make the investment to ensure our community has the resources available to achieve the future they deserve.”

Donations to charitable organizations are an integral part of Sunwest’s philanthropic initiatives. We aim to strengthen our communities by helping vulnerable children and families meet their basic needs – food, housing, health, safety, and education.  In 2020 alone, the foundation made more than $350,000 in contributions to non-profit organizations.

“We are proud to partner with Human Options to meet a critical need in our community and improve the lives of families in Orange County,” said Nicole Bice, Executive Director of the Sunwest Bank Charitable Foundation.
