Tarot Gets a Cute Makeover: Crowdfunding Veterans Unveil The Chibi Tarot

Baroque Publishing is set to launch a Kickstarter for a new tarot deck, The Chibi Tarot. This 78-card deck combines traditional Rider-Waite-Smith symbolism with charming chibi-style artwork, creating a unique and accessible tarot experience for enthusiasts and beginners alike.

The Chibi Tarot is the latest creation from the team behind the highly successful The Baroque Tarot (First and Deluxe Editions) and The Naked Truth Tarot, which were funded at 300% (900% for the Deluxe Edition) and 1000% respectively on Kickstarter. This new deck aims to bring a playful and approachable energy to tarot reading while maintaining the depth and accuracy of traditional symbolism.

Key features of The Chibi Tarot include:

  • 78 fully-illustrated cards featuring chibi versions of classic tarot imagery
  • Premium 330 GSM blackcore cardstock for durability and opacity
  • A comprehensive Little White Book (LWB) for guidance
  • A free chibi-styled tarot cloth included with every deck (during the first 48 hours)
  • Available in both standard and mini sizes

Mustapha, creator of The Chibi Tarot, says, “We wanted to create a deck that would make tarot more approachable and fun, especially for younger readers or those new to tarot. The Chibi Tarot maintains all the traditional symbolism tarot readers rely on, while presenting it in a fresh, adorable package that appeals to both beginners and collectors.”

The Chibi Tarot has already generated excitement in the tarot community, with particular interest from kawaii enthusiasts and those looking to add a touch of whimsy to their readings.

Our mission at Baroque Publishing is to create innovative and accessible tarot decks that resonate with a wide range of users. We’re thrilled to bring The Chibi Tarot to Kickstarter and share this adorable take on classic tarot with the world.

The kawaii-inspired tarot deck is set to launch on Kickstarter this September. Early bird prices will start at $45 for a single deck, with special bundle options available for enthusiasts and collectors.
