“The Curse of Stonehill,” a suspense thriller short, starring Madison Ekstrand and Michael Pare´ debuts at the Indie Shorts Fest at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood and won a Best Supporting Actor award for veteran actor Micheal Pare´.
The star of “The Curse of Stonehill,” Madison Ekstrand had great things to say about her time working with the veteran actor: “This was my first project as an actress. It was such a thrill to work with Michael. He’s an amazing person and wonderful actor. I learned so much from him.”
The short is about a young adopted girl, Lauren Foley (played by Ekstrand), in search of her birth mother. Her quest leads her to an old haunted estate where the caretaker Edward Barnes (played by Michael Paré), holds the key to her mother’s identity and the houses’ dark secret. The short was shot on location at the infamous Sunny Gables Haunted Estate in La Canada, Ca.
Michael Pare is best known for his starring roles in Eddie and The Cruisers, Streets of Fire and The Philadelphia Experiment. Madison Ekstrand has recently starred in horror feature Reed’s Point and co-starred in three episodes of Very Frightening Tales.
The short was directed by Dale Fabrigar and produced by Suzanne DeLaurentiis Productions. Additional cast includes Leilani Turner, who is also a producer on “The Very Frightening Tales” series. Associate Producers include Florence and Keith Ekstrand. It was written by Trisha Aurand.
