The 2022 Global Digital Economy Summit Gala Banquet was successfully held at the Sydney Town Hall at 7pm Sydney time on October 17, 2022. Nearly 500 guests were attending the Gala Banquet including government officials, NGOs, representatives of Australian Chinese communities, financial, scientific, and technological industries, and elites from around the world. They gathered to celebrate a gala banquet with the theme of digital economy and Metaverse technology experience.
Before the banquet had even opened, the entrance of Sydney Town Hall was already crowded with people. The organizer used the Metaverse technology to render a sense of astonishing experience that permeated the main venue of the Hall.
The mascot of DAEX Digital assets Trading Platform, which is the exclusive main sponsor of the Summit, jumped into the big screen at the very beginning of the Gala Banquet. The interaction between the robot and the Master of Ceremony kicked off the banquet with a unique artificial intelligence greeting.
Mr. Fred Kassem, Chairman of the World Digital Economy Consortium Australia Council Incorporated (WDECA), delivered an opening speech on behalf of the Summit Organizing Committee and expressed his sincere gratitude to the VIP guests attending the main summit and various sub-summits.
The Hon. Damien Tudehope MP, Minister of Finance and Employee Relations of New South Wales, and Chairman of the Legislative Council, on behalf of the Australian government, highly affirmed and praised WDECA for hosting the 2022 Global Digital Economy Summit, and sent good wishes to all the guests attending the summit.
The Hon. Andrew Bragg, Liberal Senator for New South Wales, Chair of the Senate Economics References Committee, Parliament of Australia delivered a speech. He emphasized that the New South Wales government strongly supports and promotes digital technology. He congratulated the success of the 2022 Digital Economy Summit and wished all the best to WDECA.
The Hon. Victor Dominello MP (Minister of Customer Service, Digital Government, Small Business, Fair Trading of New South Wales government) read out a congratulatory letter from The Premier of New South Wales government – The Hon. Dominic Perrottet. He delivered a congratulatory speech to World Digital Economy Consortium Australia Council Incorporated (WDECA), organizers of the Summit, and sent good wishes to the guests on behalf of the New South Wales government.
The Hon. Jonathan O’Dea MP, Speaker of Parliament of NSW, Chair of Standing Orders and Procedure Committee delivered a congratulatory speech to WDECA and the Summit on behalf of the Parliament of New South Wales. The Hon. Shaoquett Moselmane MLC, Member of Parliament of New South Wales, Executive Vice President of the Asia-Pacific Council of the New South Wales Parliament, and former Shadow Whip of the New South Wales Parliament, delivered a congratulatory speech to the organizers of the Summit including WDECA. The Hon. John Sidoti MP, Member of Parliament of New South Wales and former Minister for Sport, Multiculturalism, seniors, and Veterans of the NSW Government, delivered a congratulatory speech.
Ms. Jaylin Mao, Secretary General of the World Digital Economy Consortium Australia Council Incorporated (WDECA), read out the congratulatory email to the Summit from Australian Prime Minister The Hon. Anthony Albanese and the congratulatory letter to WDECA and the summit from Federal Shadow Treasurer The Hon. Angus Taylor. She sent great gratitude on behalf of WDECA to the Australian Federal government and New South Wales government, especially the above-mentioned politicians from the Australian Federal government and New South Wales government attending the summit, as well as The Hon. Dr. Helen Sham Ho (Former Member of Parliament of New South Wales Wales), Ms. Le Lam (Emirate Mayor of Auburn City Council). She also thanked the industry leaders, academic experts, Australian Chinese community leaders, media, sponsors, business partners and other distinguished guests for attending the Summit.
Dr. Frank Zheng, Director General of the World Blockchain Organization (WBO), a special advisory body of the United Nations Economic and Social Council, and Economic Envoy of the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda made an important speech on behalf of the advisory board of this summit, fully affirming this summit has a positive significance for promoting the development of the digital economy by all member states of the United Nations.
Mr. Mani Sharma, co-founder of Digital Capital Group (DCG) and Executive Vice Chairman of WDECA, on behalf of DCG Group, the co-organizer of the summit, gave a presentation on the global strategic layout of the Group. DAEX Digital Assets Trading Platform and WDECA which were set up by DCG Group was officially grandly launched and witnessed by distinguished guests.
After the launching ceremony of the World Digital Economy Consortium Australia Council Incorporated (WDECA), Mr. Fred Kassem, Chairman of the Council, gave letters of appointment to the members of the executive committee including Executive Vice Chairman Mr. Satya Singh, Executive Vice Chairman Mr. Mani Sharma, Vice Chairman David Guo, President Ms. Kelly Lu, Executive Vice President Mr. Golden Chen, Secretary General Ms. Jaylin Mao and other committee members.
Professor Chen Xiaohua, chairman of WDECA China, chairman of the China Mobile Communications Federation’s blockchain professional committee, and well-known digital economist, presented his report based on the development trend of China’s digital economy, published the theme of “five chains” concurrently promoting the development of the digital economy.
Mr. Lambo Lan, Chairman of the Middle East of WDECA in Dubai, UAE, delivered a vivid speech on the development of the digital economy ecology in the Middle East and the future construction of the Middle East Digital Economic zone.
Mr. Xiao Zhong, the representative of the sub-summit in Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia, made a keynote speech on the promotion of the application of digital technology to the economic development of Southeast Asia.
Meanwhile, the organizing committee presented award medals to the companies and individuals who have performed outstandingly in the digital economy field in 2022. The banquet also invited professional actors to perform wonderful art performances for the guests in the venue. The immersion in digital technology is displayed in every aspect.
The first Sydney Digital Technology Conference which is part of the 2022 Global Digital Economy Summit was successfully concluded with cheerful and stunning performances. Looking back at this summit, it is unique and innovative. The summit used X-Spaces Metaverse technology throughout the day to link the main summit venue in Sydney of Australia, sub summit venue in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, and Dubai in UAE. The audience exceeded one million people, creating an unprecedented digital technology Metaverse conference.
Since its establishment more than five years ago, the World Digital Economy Consortium (WDEC) has been reincarnating the road of struggle and persistent dreams. After years of dedication, every second is extraordinary.
