Search Engine Optimization is the most popular form of online marketing, according to a study of US marketing data.
SEO was the most searched term by entrepreneurs, businesses, and individuals with 80% hunting out information on the topic over Google Ads, Social Media Marketing, Email Marketing and Content Marketing. These valuable insights have been revealed in a Google Trends 2022 study by WeSEOexperts. Here is the full report.
WeSEOexperts have discovered that Google Ads was the second most searched term (35%), social media marketing was 13%, email marketing 8% and content marketing appeared in just 5% of Google searches.
The study of Google Trends was carried out across the US between the beginning of January and 4th December 2022.
Yahia Khan from WeSEOexperts said: “This data takes us right up to the 4th December of this year, so it is current and relevant and it will be crucial information for companies looking to finalize their marketing strategies for 2023.”
“Search Engine Optimization was by far the most searched term across the board, but there were some interesting regional trends emerging that could help further define marketing strategies for the New Year. Google Ads was a highly searched term in California, Utah, New York, the District of Columbia and Florida. And social media marketing emerged as a highly searched term in Virginia, New York, New Jersey, Georgia and California”.
“We found that New York ranked number one in searching for four of the five different types of marketing. They ranked third for Google Ads”.
“We would highly recommend that companies study this data as they finalize their marketing plans and budgets. Search engine optimization is a specialized skill and if it is used well, it can transform a company’s exposure to its target market. Another study we carried out recently showed that companies who ranked at the top of Google searches could increase traffic to their websites by a massive 39%.
