September 11th is World First Aid Day. Primary Care First Aid wants to make sure that every resident of British Columbia has the most up to date first aid and CPR certification in order to be able to save someone in an emergency situation. According to the Canadian Red Cross, around 40% of Canadians have been in a situation where they had to use first aid. Out of that 40%, only a mere 18% said that they had taken a first aid and CPR course in the past three years.
Accessible First Aid Training
“First aid and CPR training can be needed in so many situations, it is an amazing skill to have that might be the difference between life and death. Emergencies are going to happen no matter the time of day or the location,” says Scott Dineen, Owner/Head Instructor of Primary Care First Aid. This is why it is important for Canadians to have easy access to first aid and CPR training. On this World First Aid Day, Canadians are encouraged to renew or to get their first aid and CPR certification for the first time.
World First Aid Day
In 2000, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies introduced World First Aid Day. This event brings people together each year on the second Saturday of the month of September. This year, the theme for the event is First Aid at School. A lot can happen in a school and being a teacher, having CPR or basic first aid training can provide a safe learning environment for kids. The goal of this amazing event is to raise awareness on how first aid training can save lives in crisis and everyday situations.
Up to Date Training
Having the right training can provide the skills and confidence needed to help a colleague, a stranger, or even a loved one in need. That is why on this World First Aid Day, Canadians are encouraged to take their first class or to refresh their first aid and CPR certifications. Primary Care First Aid is one of the major First Aid and CPR Training Providers in British Columbia. To get more information or to get started with new classes, they would be a great company to contact as all of their instructors are full time professional fire fighters who can pass along what helping someone in an emergency situation is actually like. This makes for an extremely high success rate both inside and outside the classroom.
