HANGZHOU – Oct 29, 2018 – Zhejiang Gongshang University (ZJGSU) team entered the third China College Students’ Entrepreneurship Competition in 2018 Wednesday.
As the only team at ZJGSU shortlisted for the four-day national final held at Zhejiang University, PureJoy Culture (PC), the one-stop media operation service provider, impressed onsite judges and spectators with its business model, accomplishments of projects and vision for the future media industry.
A number of school officials, young talents and prestigious judges gathered around. After PC team members submitted their business plans to the judges, the onsite oral defense began. These young talents answered a bunch of questions regarding the company’s mission, goals and profit situation.
These young entrepreneurs also gave presentations on their enterprises. They shared their insights into the industry, the development of the innovation in this country and their vision of future with spectators and judges from the Organization Department of the Communist Party of China.
It’s not easy to get into the final round, especially in a competition that has hundreds of participants and includes several layers of selection. “We’ve experienced college-level and province-level selection, and we finally became the candidate for the final,” PC General Manager Song Zhicheng said.
PC has a lot to do with ZJGSU. Song and the company’s operating manager Yang Yuanyuan are currently studying at ZJGSU. Combining internet thinking and traditional media, it provides Chinese new media services for well-known North American companies such as Outlets and Monolith Auto Group.
Grace Napolitano, the U.S. Representative for California’s 32nd congressional district, praised PC’s contributions to the Chinese community, honoring their “effort and involvement in developing the next generation of young leaders.”
Witness their growth and development, ZJGSU has cultivated and helped PC along the way. Established in 1911, ZJGSU has made outstanding achievements in scientific research and social services. It won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award. Besides, it cooperates with national authorities, establishing research centers and industry research institutions.
ZJGSU’s education philosophy of giving back to society influences PC. Since its establishment, PC has provided more than 50 new media internship opportunities for students at ZJGSU, training a number of new media talents.
ZJGSU has always been open and eager to help students start their business with international teams. In the past years, ZJGSU has been paying great attention to international exchanges and cooperation. Currently, the university has a partner relationship with more than 100 universities and scientific research institutions from more than 50 countries. It has hosted and sponsored more than 20 large-scale international activities and important academic conferences.
Young talents have learned a lot in these international opportunities and resources. With comprehensive domestic and overseas resources and excellent cultural and creative thinking strength, PC, led by president and chief editor Wang Yurong as well as ZJGSU administers, hopes to support every writer to realize their dreams and to contribute to the media industry for a better future. In 2019, it aims to open up market in related countries along The Belt and Road Initiative. It also strikes to achieve their goal of 50 million yuan revenue.
The current leadership roles in PC is as follows: president, chief editor and journalist of People’s Daily Wang Yurong, general manager Song Zhicheng, operating manager Yang Yuanyuan, creative director Ji Lei and business advisor Zhu Bohong.
On Nov. 8, 2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the Organizing Committee of the 2013 Global Entrepreneurship Week China, emphasizing the important role young students play in innovation and entrepreneurship. In order to implement Xi’s plans and decisions, the Communist Youth League of China, Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, China Association for Science and Technology and All-China Students’ Federation have jointly organized the “Creating Youth” China College Students’ Entrepreneurship Competition since 2014. The competiton is held once every two years.
And to thoroughly study and implement Xi’s thoughts of new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics and to motivate college students to carry forward the ego of the new era, ZJU host the 2018 event. It features innovation as the driving force for development and concentrates on the practicality of economic and social development. It intends to create a comprehensive platform for the display, service, transformation and landing of innovation and entrepreneurship projects, build an innovation chain from original innovation to transformation of results, and promote the transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements in universities.
