American Augers Drills into Parts Data

Denver, Colo. – American Augers, a US-based maker of auger boring machines, directional drills and mud pumping equipment, has signed an agreement to implement Digabit’s SaaS offering, Documoto Authoring Suite. This application transforms parts catalog data into a digital format that can be used to build both electronic and print parts catalogs—ultimately providing an online sales channel for spare parts and other aftermarket products.

The manufacturer chose Digabit’s Authoring Essentials subscription package to quickly migrate parts data to the new authoring system. Authoring Essentials allows American Augers to take the first step toward a digital transformation of their aftermarket support operations. Digitizing legacy content is an essential task on the path toward modernizing a manufacturer’s parts and service support model.

Documoto helps American Augers ensure parts catalogs are up-to-date with the latest engineering designs and illustrations. Their previous parts book publishing system relied on desktop tools that make it impractical to revise and distribute new, updated parts books.

Documoto’s database architecture makes it easy to build 100% accurate parts catalogs for unique, custom-configured machines like some of American Augers’ products, rather than asking users to hunt through generic parts lists and illustrations for the parts they need.

One feature that particularly appealed to American Augers is Documoto’s Cloud Access web library, where authorized users can find not only parts catalogs but also additional support content like service manuals, engineering change notices and maintenance videos. This function gives companies the ability to create a “one-stop shop” for product information that serves internal users, maintenance staff, dealers and other stakeholders.

About Digabit, Inc.

Documoto by Digabit was created in 2010 after a meeting with an Equipment Manufacturer executive who was frustrated by the difficulties of maintaining and distributing thousands of pages of support documentation. Documoto is the solution to that problem, with a parts catalog publishing suite, Cloud Access for technical documentation, and a Cloud Storefront for online sales. Documoto will save you time and make you money — it is the way the manufacturing world is going.
