“The Rapture” is set to be performed at the Ephesians Baptist Church with a celebratory performance scheduled for January 31 – February 2, 2020. Directed by the award-winning Evaughn High. The musical is an original creative work adapted from the popular play “What Will the Rapture Be Like,” written by Gerald Saffold and has been going on for more than four decades.

The story is a web of songs woven in dialogue delivered through individuals who have experienced difficult places in life, including a fake church, chronicling the story of “Mother of Zion,” Ronda Davis, who finds it difficult to overcome life’s challenges rearing her children.

The play is a dramatization of the second coming of Christ through narration and song, lead Mario J. Brown, of Atlanta, GA., Pastor John High,of No Middle Ground Worship, a retired music educator in Wauwatosa School District and graduate of the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music along with his wife, Evaughn High, actress Lady of the Night, director, producer and writer recent graduate of MATC. University of Milwaukee, and Cardinal Stritch University.

The Gospel Musical is set in modern times with the aim of helping people to decide on whether they will allow the cares of the world to reveal their true character and live for Christ or will they succumb to worldly pleasures and miss “The Rapture.” The story of the play is narrated by Mario J. Brown, depicting it in a unique humble voice while delivering graceful vocals throughout the dramatization.

The play features the popular comedian, actor, Kerric Stephens, who stars as a pimp that interrupts the story with his lady of the night, depicting a spellbinding performance as she attempts to go with Christ when he returns. There is also a fake pastor, who is played by Q Davis Lea, replicating the real-life phenomenon of a fake pastor in every great church attempting to fleece the sheep. The deviant pastor demonstrates a deception of pulpit etiquette at the Hard Work Full Deliverance Church. Other talented acts set to star in the play including Sandra Gibson, Evangelist Patricia Hilliard, Lynnell Fair, Lynnetta Davis and Lyric.

“The Rapture” is a production of Eve’s Wisdom Productions and 3 shows only will commence by 7:00 pm., and one Sunday 4:30 pm Mattinee, Tickets to the play are available at Eventbrite key in the Rapture and at No Middle Ground Worship on Sundays 3:30 pm.
