Grow TV Officially Launches On Roku and Amazon Fire TV

African American-oriented TV for kids, Grow TV, announces their official launch on Roku and Amazon Fire TV as the company continues to expand their reach

Grow TV is not resting on their goal of disrupting the entertainment and media space as the channel recently launched on two major platforms,  Roku TV and Amazon Fire TV. The recent feat is in line with the company’s goal of providing quality content for African American children as well as African citizens living abroad. In a similar vein, Grow TV recently signed a partnership licensing agreement with Sepia Works, the creators of Callaloo TV and Inway Studios, creators of “Bex Adventures”.

The media and entertainment industry has evolved over the years, growing to become a multi-billion-dollar market, with different stakeholders providing content to meet the diverse needs of the audience. Despite the growth in the industry, one major part of the market has been seemingly underserved. While several channels offer content for children of different background, there are practically no channels offering programs specifically for African American children, with only a few educational television shows for children of color in the US. According to a recent report from Variety and USA Today, two out of three African American adults feel misrepresented on television. Studies have also revealed that the self-esteem and cognitive skills of African American children can be enhanced through TV content specifically designed to show them. Consequently, Grow TV is looking to make a difference in the present and future generations by delivering fun, entertaining, and educational programs to black and brown children across the US and worldwide.

In addition to the recent launch on Amazon Fire and Roku, Grow TV is also on the negotiation table with Ubongo, the creators of the Youtube sensation “Akile and Me” and “Ubongo Kids.” The company is also working out terms with EVCL, the creators of “Bino and Fino”, as well as Lagos Comic Con to connect with more content creators for the platform.
