The Huzhou-Hangzhou high-speed railway was officially named and included in the Hefei-Hangzhou high-speed railway network on Nov 23, according to the Shanghai Railway Administration.

The railway started construction in September 2019 and is expected to open to traffic before the 19th Asian Games, which will take place in Hangzhou in September 2022.

There will be five stations along the route, namely Huzhou Station, Deqing Station, Hangzhou West Station, Fuyang West Station, and Tonglu East Station, among which the latter three are newly-established stations.

Hangzhou West Station will be a major transportation hub that is expected to serve the smooth running of the Asian Games, as well as be an integral part of the Yangtze River Delta railway network.
