Integrated Mountain Group Team Members Show Dedication to Community: Serve On Roaring Fork Kayaking Club’s Board

Two of Integrated Mountain Group’s (a Colorado real estate, property maintenance, and property management company) Carbondale branch team members now serve on the Roaring Fork Kayak Club’s board, further displaying their commitment to community outreach.

We sat down with Mathieu Dumoulin, one of the leaders at the Carbondale branch, to discuss what their position on the club’s board means to them and the overall mission of Integrated Mountain Group.

How Does Roaring Fork Kayaking Club Align with Integrated Mountain Group?

Matthieu:

We wanted to support a cause that not only aligned with our commitment to excellence in our field, but one that cared about the environmental challenges our community faces today. Their (Roaring Fork Kayak Club) coaches are internationally recognized as the best and they bring that commitment to the community at-large.

We make sure who we support shares our love of the outdoors and Colorado’s recreational opportunities. We aren’t just a real estate company. We care about the mountain lifestyle and want to support organizations that add to it. The Roaring Fork Valley is one of the most beautiful, renowned areas in the world for kayaking and organizations like Roaring Fork Kayak Club highlight and protect that prestige.

What do you think sports such as kayaking mean to the Carbondale area? What can they do for the community?

Matthieu:

It’s apparent we’re facing a climate crisis. Wildfires and droughts are a huge concern in our neck of the woods and it’s disheartening to know these emergencies are caused by humans who simply don’t treat our outdoors responsibly. Roaring Fork Kayak Club cultivates the relationship community members have with our rivers. We want people to remain close with our outdoor recreation groups because they remind us the beauty we experience isn’t to be taken for granted.

What has kayaking meant to you in your personal life?

Matthieu:

Kayaking has been an important part of my life since I can remember. I discovered the Roaring Fork Valley through kayaking and it still plays a huge role in my life. I used to come to Vail for the mountain games and take a trip to Glenwood to surf the Wave and paddle the Roaring Fork after.

Kayaking was a large reason why my wife and I moved here. That’s even part of the reason why I joined Integrated Mountain. I’ve met some of my closest colleagues in the Colorado mountain real estate industry on the Upper Colorado River. You see it everywhere out here; the river permeates our culture.

Are you working with other charities to support the growth of the community’s recreation activities?

Matthieu:

We are heavily involved with trail restoration and river clean up events throughout the year.
