Mending Broken Pieces Inc, 501(3)c (MBP) Launches Dream Connect, a Website of Resources For Homeless Youth and Young Adults in Georgia

Dream Connect is a free secure website of resources for homeless youth and young adults ages 14-24 that connects them to agencies & programs that provides food, shelter, education opportunities, and much more. Dream Connect will officially launch September 22, 2020.

MBP officially launches Dream Connect (www.dreamconnect.org) on September 22, 2020.  Dream Machine the site’s original name changed to Dream Connect so the site name and URL matched.  MBP has also updated the site design and content.  Dream Connect can be accessed through a cell phone and other portable devises.  The site provides agencies and programs that offers shelter, food, healthcare, mental healthcare, opportunities for high school, colleges, universities, technical training, help to escape human trafficking, and much more for homeless youth and young adults ages 14-24.

According to Dr. Wilson MBP’s founder, there is a stigma attached to homelessness that can silence homeless youth and young adults and make them reluctant to ask for help or tell someone that they are homeless.   By giving these young people resources and services on a digital platform they have more control over to whom and how often they must tell their stories of homelessness to get help.

According to the data, as many as 4.2 million youth and young adults experience homelessness nationally, and 700,00 are unaccompanied minors, and in Georgia during the 2017/18 academic there were 39,952 homeless public school students. Homeless youth and young adults are vulnerable to abuse, assault, exploitation, and illness. Having a secure website of resource like Dream Connect that is accessible 24/7 is critical.

MBP’s founder Dr. Wilson says, “I know from personal experience that dreams needs people to believe them, and funds to achieve them.  Dream Connect believes in their dreams and provides resources so they can remain in or go to school to achieve them.
