NASTRM® Invests $275,000 to Prevent Draconian Regulations on Short-Term Rentals in Dayton, OH

DAYTON, OH – May 1, 2023 – The National Association of Short Term Rental Managers (NASTRM®), the official organization representing short-term rental property owners and managers in the United States, announced today that it has allocated $275,000 to prevent the imposition of overly restrictive regulations on short-term rental properties in Dayton, OH.

This investment will be used to support a local advocacy campaign that includes lobbying, public education, and awareness initiatives to emphasize the positive impact short-term rentals have on the local economy and to address the concerns of residents and local government officials.

NASTRM®’s decision to invest in Dayton comes in response to recent proposals by city officials to introduce stringent regulations on short-term rental properties. These regulations would significantly limit the growth and operation of short-term rental businesses, potentially harming homeowners, property managers, and the local tourism industry.

“NASTRM® is committed to ensuring a fair and equitable environment for short-term rental operators throughout the United States,” said John Smith, President of NASTRM®. “We believe that by investing in Dayton, we can work with local stakeholders to develop sensible regulations that protect the interests of all parties involved.”

The organization plans to collaborate with Dayton’s short-term rental operators, city officials, and community members to create a regulatory framework that balances the needs of all stakeholders. This includes addressing concerns related to noise, parking, and trash management while preserving the economic benefits that short-term rentals provide to the local community.

“Short-term rentals are an important driver of Dayton’s economy, generating significant revenue for local businesses and the city as a whole,” Smith added. “It is our hope that this investment will help preserve the positive contributions of short-term rentals while addressing the concerns of the community.”
